We asked Cristian a few questions to get to know him better.
How long have you worked at TERI?
4 months.
What is your favorite part about working with our clients or students?
The rapport-building and pairing process. It's a super fun time, while also being vital for creating a solid foundation for a case.
What is one thing that you have on your bucket list?
To meet Kate Bush.
What show are you currently binge-watching?
Yellowjackets and The Great British Baking Show.
What motivates you?
Everyone has an innate desire to express themselves, communicate, and participate in their community. When more people are given the chance to act on these desires, the world is a much more interesting place.
What is the best concert you’ve been to?
Too many to choose! Caroline Polachek, Sufjan Stevens, Muse, Beach House... lots that I'm forgetting.
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
Guitar, a speaker of some kind, and a dog.
Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
Debra Satterfield: One of my design college professors who is heavily involved in accessibility and ASD-related design. She was a great mentor when I was working on my thesis, and she ultimately got me interested in social inclusion-related fields.
Cristian has been a wonderful addition to the Clinical Services Team! He has been great at building trust and rapport with his clients and is always seeking feedback on ways to improve the quality of services. He is great with communicating with his coworkers and the families he works with. He shows great empathy and compassion. Cristian is always looking for creative ways to incorporate his passion for music and arts into the services he is providing. Recently, Cristian subbed at TLA and TCS and spent time to develop a music group program to run with the students who have not had music groups for some time. The students were engaged and had an amazing time. I was receiving messages from NPS staff throughout the day about how great Cristian was at working with the students and how much fun the students had.
