Below is a list of the many exciting benefits included with a career at TERI.

Health Care

TERI, Inc. values the health and wellness of you and your family and is able to continue to offer rich health plans to eligible employees. Health care insurance is offered through Kaiser Permanente and United Healthcare. Employees have the choice of enrolling in one of three HMO plans. Regular full-time employees are eligible to enroll in one of these plans effective the first day of the month following the completion of the 90-day initiation period. Employees will be contacted to attend a benefits meeting at time of eligibility to receive full details of the plans. Dental Care

Dental insurance is offered through United Concordia through the Concordia Plus DHMO Network or the Concordia Advantage Plus PPO Network.  Regular part-time employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible to enroll in the DHMO plan and regular full-time employees are eligible to enroll in either of the two plans effective the first day of the month following the completion of the 90-day initiation period.  Dental coverage is a voluntary employee paid benefit. 

Vision Care

Full and Part-time employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible effective the first day of the month following the completion of the 90-day initiation period.  The VSP vision plan offers savings on eye exams, contact lenses and eye care, and discounts on laser vision correction.  Vision coverage is a voluntary employee paid benefit.

CIGNA Group Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance

Group Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance is provided to regular full-time employees effective the first day of the month following the completion of the 90-day initiation period.  Employee coverage is paid for 100% by TERI, Inc.  There is no option to add dependent coverage to this plan.

CIGNA Group Short Term (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) Insurance

Regular full-time employees are enrolled in this plan effective the first day of the month following the completion of the 90-day initiation period.  Employee coverage is paid for 100% by TERI, Inc.  There is no option to add dependent coverage to this plan.  STD Insurance will pay up to 60% of weekly earnings from the 30th consecutive day of disability.  LTD Insurance will pay up to 60% of monthly earnings from the 90th consecutive day of total disability.

CIGNA Life Assistance Program

CIGNA's Life Assistance Program offers free access to referrals and resources such as legal and financial advice, child care service referral, summer child care, pet care, parenting, education, special needs, prenatal, parenting and adoption.  Please view the CIGNA Life Assistance Brochure for further details.  Regular full-time employees are eligible the first day of the month following the completion of the 90-day initiation period.

CIGNA Healthy Rewards Program

CIGNA's Healthy Rewards Program offers free access discounts on health programs and services as part of CIGNA’s ongoing effort to promote wellness. CIGNA Secure Travel

CIGNA's Secure Travel offers emergency medical and travel services, as well as helpful pre-trip planning assistance, when travelling 100+ miles from home on company business or vacation.  The CIGNA Secure Travel customer service center is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.   Please view the CIGNA Secure Travel for further details.  Regular full-time employees are eligible the first day of the month following the completion of the 90-day initiation period.

CIGNA Identity Theft Program

CIGNA's Identity Theft Program offers resolution services to help work through critical identity theft issues.  Please view the CIGNA Identity Theft Brochure for further details.  Regular full-time employees are eligible the first day of the month following the completion of the 90-day initiation period.

CIGNA Will Preparation Program

CIGNA's Will Preparation Program offers an easy tool to create personalized legal documents such as a Last Will & Testament, a Living Will or Power of Attorney.  Please view the CIGNA Will Preparation Brochure for further details.  Regular full-time employees are eligible the first day of the month following the completion of the 90-day initiation period.

Flexible Spending Account

The Flexible Spending Account is an employer-sponsored benefit plan that allows employees to have money deducted from their pay on a pre-tax basis to be used for reimbursement for qualified health and dependent care expenses (i.e., qualified childcare, prescription medications, doctors’ visit co-pays, chiropractor fees, eye glasses, dental expenses, laser eye surgery, etc.).  Participating in a Flexible Spending Account via payroll deduction may also reduce your tax burden and increase your take-home pay.  By participating in the fund, you have the opportunity to budget for health and dependent care expenses by withholding a small amount from each paycheck. Regular full-time employees are eligible the first day of the month following the completion of the 90-day initiation period.

Cafeteria Plan

TERI, Inc. offers a cafeteria plan that allows you to pay for health, dental and vision plan premiums utilizing pre-tax dollars. Premiums paid with pre-tax dollars assist in relieving the impact of increasing costs by reducing employees’ taxable income and in turn increasing the amount of take-home pay.  Unless an employee opted out of the cafeteria plan upon enrollment, or upon the inception date of the cafeteria plan, employees are automatically enrolled in the plan.  Further details regarding the cafeteria plan are available from the Human Resources Department.

403(b) Tax-Deferred Retirement Savings Plan

The 403(b) account is offered through Mutual of America Investments.  All employees are eligible to participate in this plan at time of hire.  A 403(b) is available only to non-profit agencies and is the non-profit equivalent of a 401(k).  Employees under age 50 may contribute up to $16,500 (tax-deferred) per year and employees over age 50 may contribute up to $22,000 (tax deferred) per year.  Withdrawals from the 403(b) plan, including early withdrawals, are governed by IRS regulations.

Paid Holidays

New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.  Regular full-time employees are eligible.

Paid Time Off

Regular full-time employees are eligible to receive paid time off (PTO) the first full pay period following the completion of the 90-day initiation period.  Employees accrue PTO at a rate determined by number of hours worked and length of service.  For example, accruals based on a 40-hour work-week are as follows: 4 months-1 year of service=114 PTO hours (14.25 days)/year, 1-3 years of service=152 PTO hours (19 days)/year, 3+ years of service=192 PTO hours (24 days)/year.  Please refer to the TERI, Inc. Supplemental Term Life Insurance

20 year Term Life Insurance policies are offered through American Heritage / Allstate Life Insurance Company.  Policies are available to employees and their spouse in the amount of $25,000, $50,000, or $100,000.  Regular part-time employees working 25+ hours per week and regular full-time employees are eligible to participate effective the first day of the month following the completion of the 90-day initiation period.  Premiums are based on age and benefit amount requested.  Supplemental Term Life Insurance coverage is a voluntary employee-paid benefit.

Supplemental Accident/Sickness Insurance

Policies are offered through American Heritage / Allstate Life Insurance Company.  These plans provide income replacement that will pay over and above state disability insurance (and any other insurance currently in force) for employees that are totally disabled due to sickness or accidental injury.  This plan will allow employees to better plan for elective surgeries, maternity/pregnancy disability leave, or provide assistance at times of unexpected injury/sickness.  Regular part-time employees working 25+ hours per week and regular full-time employees are eligible to participate effective the first day of the month following the completion of the 90-day initiation period.  Employees must earn a minimum of $1000 (gross earnings) per month to be eligible to participate.  Premiums are based on the level of benefit requested.  This plan is a voluntary employee-paid benefit.

Employee Assistance Fund

The Employee Assistance Fund assists staff with a legitimate life situation that, with assistance, can be rectified.  The fund receives grant monies through donations from the agency’s management staff.  Employees in need of assistance may request a grant from the Employee Assistance Fund by completing the “Employee Assistance Fund” form.   Employees exhibiting poor job performance, on a leave of absence, or not actively working for TERI are not eligible.

Ted Williams Scholarship Fund

TERI, Inc. established the Ted Williams Scholarship Fund for the purpose of providing grant monies to TERI, Inc. direct care staff for use in pursuing educational goals.  Monies placed into the Ted Williams Scholarship Fund represent donations from TERI, Inc. Administrative staff and other donations specifically designated for this fund.  All TERI, Inc. direct care staff may apply for monies from this scholarship fund after the completion of the 90-day initiation period.  Applications are accepted annually during a designated timeframe.  Employees exhibiting poor job performance, on a leave of absence, or not actively working for TERI, Inc. are not eligible.

Educational Assistance

TERI recognizes that the skills and knowledge of its employees are important to the success of the organization.  TERI supports self-development and educational efforts by providing reimbursements for many of the expenses associated with continuing education courses.  All full-time, regular employees are eligible for benefits under this policy after completing 6 months of service.  Employees may pursue a degree or take individual courses at approved and accredited educational institutions under this program, provided the course of study is related to the employee’s current position or a probable future assignment and TERI approves the course(s).  Employees may receive educational assistance for (1) class per semester/school session and approval must be obtained prior to commencement of each course per semester.   An Educational Assistance Request Form must be submitted to the employee’s Department Director for approval. 

Special Needs Life Quality Coaching Course

TERI Director of Education and Research, Krysti DeZonia, teaches the online 16-week Special Needs Life Quality Coaching course with flexible hours so that working professionals have the time they need to complete assignments and connect with their student cohort.  After training, coaches work with families and individuals to determine what they need in order to meet personal goals, and they establish and monitor action plans to help them reach these goals.  This course is offered free of charge to TERI employees following the completion of the 90-day initiation period (a $3500.00 value). 

TERI, Inc. Corporate Fitness Center & Fitness Incentive Bonus

Employees are invited to pursue personal health and wellness by joining co-workers at the TERI Corporate Fitness Center, located at 251 Airport Road, Oceanside.  TERI’s Corporate Fitness Director is a Certified Strength Training Specialist and Nutritionist and develops personalized fitness and nutrition plans for staff . Group exercise sessions, such as Yoga and aerobics, are held several times weekly.  In the Fitness Center, staff have access to cardio equipment (treadmills, elliptical machines, exercise bikes), free weights and strength/circuit training exercise equipment.  TERI provides all corporate fitness center benefits at no cost to employees.  All employees are eligible to participate from date of hire, following an initial assessment with the Corporate Fitness Director.  All staff working 15+ hours per month and exercising 3+ hours per week are eligible to apply for a monthly $25 fitness incentive bonus. 

Culinary Services

TERI consults with Chef Jana McMahon to provide our staff and clients with the resources to grow quality garden produce and cook healthful meals.  Jana is a private chef providing culinary and horticulture services for TERI staff and clients, guests of the Hawaiian Islands, and international celebrities.  TERI staff have access to custom entrée, side, and dessert recipes specially designed for TERI staff and clients by accessing the TERI employee access page at www.teriinc.org

TERI Employee Discounts / Benefits 

AT&T Wireless Services

AT&T Wireless offers TERI employees a 10% group discount on qualifying monthly service plan fees.  To access this TERI employee discount, simply download and complete the AT&T IRU Discount application.

Dell Discount Program

As a TERI employee, Dell grants access to members only best prices on Consumer PCs from Dell. It also means if you find a better price on your day of purchase, contact an EPP sales specialist and Dell will beat that price! See TERI Employee Self Service or HR for details on the monthly discounts.

Fun Express Discount Recreation Benefit Program

Prescription Assistance Programs (PAP)

For staffs that do not have prescription coverage or are looking for discounted prescription pricing, there are drug assistance programs to assist you in finding the best PAP for a known drug or treatment regimen like www.rxoutreach.com or www.pparx.org or www.rxassist.org.

San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU) and Mission Federal Credit Union (MFCU).
