Campus of Life

Modeling an integrated community where everyone learns, creates, and lives well side-by-side.

THE TERI CAMPUS OF LIFE

The vision for The TERI Campus of Life is founded on the belief that when given the opportunity, people discover each other’s humanity and happily live and learn side by side. To advance this vision, our beautiful Campus is designed to bring together children and adults with disabilities, their families, and the community. As a true center of innovation and excellence, our Campus is dedicated to transforming lives through performing arts, fine arts, fitness, nutrition, organic agriculture, social gatherings and so much more. Add love, compassion, joy, and a staff of truly remarkable individuals and you have a recipe for miracles!

Construction of The Campus is underway on 20 acres of lovely rural hills in San Marcos, California. According to the California Disability Services Association, 66% of providers engaged in direct services for children and adults with a disability are turning away new referrals due to insufficient staffing or programming. With 1 in 8 families with loved ones on the neurodiverse spectrum, funding for this underserved population will grow staffing, curriculum, and program access that triples TERI’s ability to serve San Diego’s neurodiverse community and become a beacon of hope for all in the special needs community.

Tom & Mary Tomlinson Vocational Center

In September 2021, TERI opened the Tom and Mary Tomlinson Vocational Center intended to provide access to career training and experiences not traditionally available to adults with special needs. The Center serves as the hub for food preparation and distribution to TERI’s residential programs as well as the processing of organic produce grown on TERI’s properties. A commercial grade kitchen produces meals sold in the Center’s Common Grounds Café and Coffee Bar and outdoor patio. Training rooms and laundry facilities serve as additional training and employment opportunities for TERI’s teen and adult students. Five event spaces are available for rent to the community for social events, corporate meetings, milestone celebrations and more.

Harriet E. Pfleger Therapeutic Equestrian Center

Our Therapeutic Equestrian Center opened in 2015, has had a profound healing effect on our students that struggle with the physical, mental, and emotional challenges that come with their disabilities. Under the guidance of our highly trained staff, students participate in a range of activities with full-grown horses as well as our charming miniatures, Jack and Jill.
