The
State of California has recognized TERI as a model program for the
outstanding quality of services it provides.
TERI has established a number of model programs for our county,
including:
- Programs
for adults who have coexisting profound mental retardation/deafness/blindness
- First
to provide a day camp in North County for children with severe
developmental and behavioral disorders
- A
leader, since 1986, in the successful operation of corporate-sponsored
childcare for its employees
- Established
a successful non-public school model program for children with
severe behavioral and developmental disorders
- Established
a model retirement program for adults with behavioral and developmental
needs
- Since
1998, the agency has hosted “Autism Through the Lifespan,”
a conference that brings internationally-renowned experts in the
field of autism to the San Diego area to present the latest in
research and state-of-the-art best-practice procedures for use
with this population.
- TERI
provides ongoing training and consultation to school districts,
law enforcement, medical staff, parents and other community members
on methods for working and living successfully with this population.
- Through
its dedication to caregiving and facility management, TERI has
produced, marketed and successfully sold nationally a series of
12 staff training video packages to provide the ongoing in-service
training required by state and federal regulations.
