Jenell Tiffany:
It is said that GOD grants an uncommon life to the degree we surrender our common one. The instrument of my surrender, over 16 years ago, was an amazing non-profit in northern San Diego County called the Training, Education and Research Institute, or simply TERI. TERI is one of the largest providers of innovative & model programs for persons with developmental and learning disabilities. With an enumerable array of exceptional services such as Residential, Respite, Transportation, Adult & Vocational services, two Non-public schools, Health and Fitness, to Research and Life planning, I have had the distinct pleasure to head up TERI’s Therapeutic Equestrian Program, a program of highly effective instructors, selfless volunteers, intuitive lesson horses, and our incredibly special students. Any visitor to our program can immediately view the elements of our success and inspiration. Success in the form of self confidence, courage, improved muscle tone & balance, ability to focus and stay on task, independence, strength, coordination, and most important…a greater interest and enjoyment in one’s own life thru achievement. I would also like to convey that as instructors and volunteers, our involvement with these special students, has a profound impact on our own destinations. Along the way, we can’t help but learn & grow with them as we count the cost in tears and laughter, while evolving our own better angels.
