TERI stands for Training, Education & Research Institute.
Where and when was TERI started/founded?
TERI was founded in 1980, in Oceanside, California. TERI serves all of San Diego County, and southern California.
Whom does TERI serve?
TERI services individuals of all ages with autism and other developmental & learning disabilities their families, and other organizations that support and educate this population.
How are TERI clients referred and what area are they from?
Individuals are referred to TERI through the San Diego Regional Center, School Districts and “word-of-mouth.” We consult with organizations nationwide, positively impacting the services offered by other organizations.
What types of programs does TERI offer?
TERI operates ten (11) Residential Homes, two (2) K-12 Schools (The Learning Academy & The Country School), an adult education & vocational center (Center for the Arts & Adult Education, CAAE), a Fitness & Recreational Center, a Therapeutic Equestrian Program, Music & Movement Therapy, Life Quality Planning, Research, Family Support Services, CAL (Choices for Adult Learning), Transportation, and the International Association for Life Quality. This Association focuses attention worldwide on the importance of promoting quality of life for individuals with special needs, offering Life Quality Planning and Special Needs Life Quality Coach online training on an international scope.

60 adult residential, 180 adult day program, 275+ respite, 104+ school-aged (K-12).
Where are TERI programs located?
TERI operates programs throughout north San Diego County, Orange and Riverside County with administration offices located in Oceanside, California. Family Support Services are located country-wide.
How is TERI funded?
Primarily through government agencies as well as private funding from individuals, corporations and foundations.
Who founded TERI?
Cheryl Kilmer, founded TERI in 1980 with Ronald Roher and Dr. Krysti DeZonia.
